Oh No its October again

It’s October. The clocks are going back and it’s going to be dark and miserable going home from work.
I’m going to need a torch and waterproof clothing to take the dog for a walk
It seems a long time before I will enjoy waking up in the morning with the sun shinning. So what is good about this time of year? Well its party time. In the UK we have Halloween followed by Guy Fawks Night, Christmas and then New Year all crammed into just 9 weeks. WOW.
What better way to Party than have a Costume Party, that’s Fancy Dress to us Brits.
There is no better way to break the ice at a party than discussing what great costumes everyone is wearing. The Top Themes this year seem to be Pirates, Cowboys and Indians, Don’t forget Halloween, The swinging Sixties and the Glam rock days of the seventies.

Sooty the Collection Box goes on Holiday.

Just sitting on the bar in a local pub is a really boring job and can be very depressing for an ambitious Sooty collection box. One Sunday afternoon after a grand roast dinner I noticed that poor Sooty had one eye missing. As I own a fancy Dress shop I thought I would give poor Sooty a treat and make him some fine clothes to cheer him up. We gave him a nice tailor made Hawaiian shirt. Didn’t he look smart, but alas he still looked unhappy. As we were going on holiday we thought that’s just what Sooty needs a couple of weeks away in the sun. So late on a Friday night we slipped Sooty into our bag and took him for the trip of a lifetime.

Sooties first vacation was to Las Vegas.



As we arrived very early in the morning we all went for breakfast.
Here Sooty had a wonderful time playing the Slot machines.

Superman and Spiderman loose battle against Fluffy Bunny and 70’s chick

No this isn’t fiction it’s for real.
It all takes place in a quiet sleepy little village called Great Wakering. Here Dee sits in her big arm chair in a small cottage pondering what character is going to be the most popular this season. Dee says she uses the Sun Newspaper to predict who’s going to win. If the Sun says a recession is due 70’s chicks win by a factor of 20 to 1.
You’ve probably guessed by now Dee sells fancy dress costumes and has a constant battle trying to guess what theme the fancy dress parties are going to be this season. Poor Superman and Spiderman are right down the bottom of the sales league at the moment as 60’s and 70’s costumes fly off the rails. Even Fluffy Bunny is outselling them.
